Spyware Doctor?

Is this a valid Anti-Spyware program, or is this going to make my problem worse?  How about Adaware?  My father keeps running AOL programs that say everything's fine, but there's no way everything's fine with this dumb thing.

To answer your question is Spyware Doctor a valid program, the answer is yes. Would I recommend or use it; no.
Avast or AVG both excellent and both free, would be better choices.

However in your post you failed to describe what kind of problem you are having. If you post it, maybe we can help

Bamajim..
I wish I would have seen this post before I went out and spent 30 bucks on Spyware Doctor as I might have saved myself some money. However Spyware Doctor did infact find around 380 different Spyware/Trojans on my computer while Macfee said it was clean?? After quite a few scans , it has seemed to clean my files. Pestrap was the last bugger to hold on and so far that seems to be gone also but I'm not entirely convinced it won't rear it's ugly icon at some point. I have rebooted several times to see if anything is regenerated and so far aso good tho I'm keeping my fingers crossed..LOL

The computer is unbelievably slow, when I was using Adaware I would get the same infections on every scan and remove them, then they would be right back, without accessing the internet or anything.  I have one infection that when I try to remove it, it makes the whole computer freeze and I have to shut down and restart.  I tried to download the free trial version of Norton Antivirus 2006, but it gets almost to the end and won't completely install.

Well Baddkitty you can do a few things..

First do a scan using this program HERE

You really should go to HERE and download HiJackThis to its own folder that you create on your C:\ drive.
After it is downloaded open the program and click Scan and Save to log.

Post the log that it generates in the HiJackThisForum for analysis.
