The ratiing of software such as anti-virus should not be based on opinon but rather on objective evaluation.

Ummm ... no. There are some reputable vendors there, but IMHO I would not recommend any of them.

"Top 10" lists may be fine for Letterman... but I'm assuming such an extensive list was placed here more as a joke than anything else. [Especially when one notes that Mr. Black also saw fit to post his "top 10" list of laptop brands (elsewhere in the Dell forums).]
In particular, users should be advised that the top named product is most likely malware than legitimate... I wish I had a more authoritative link, but the best I've come across on short notice is http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-pc-antivirus-pro.html (which WOT has "green lighted") [and lest there be any doubt, I am *NOT* advocating anyone try the "SpyHunter" program mentioned on that website].
The inclusion of malware, at the top of your list, discredits your entire "recommendation" --- although the remaining names are all legitimate.

Black 05, what type of research and testing did you base your recommendation on?

My feelings are that at this time of the year there would be more than few will be visiting over to this site [I always regarded very helpful and trustworthy place to visit for help]
1. To resolve issues with their newly purchased products and just connected to the internet & unfortunate to some bad experience
2. Want to learn about Anti -Virus protection especially about paid Vs free ones
3. Ect.... Ect...
is an ideal time to cause get them hooked into unwanted items..:emotion-6:
Like the view of seasoned and knowledged posters [Eg:ky331, Bugbatter,msgale,joe53] here [I do not regard myself in that group], one with some authority should act on such misleading thread to protect innocent unsuspecting visitors is my humble opinion.

Dell Community is a place to share and learn. All members of Dell Community are entitled to their post opinions. However, as ky331 pointed out: "The inclusion of malware, at the top of your list, discredits your entire "recommendation" --- although the remaining names are all legitimate."
It seems odd that rogue software is at the top of the list posted by Black 05. There are many reputable free and paid anti-virus and anti-malware programs available from respected vendors, without the need to include something that is considered rogue malware.
PC Antivirus Pro is a typical rogueware which is known to report invented viruses and ask the money for their removal. It gets inside Operating System through security vulnerabilities found and usually asks no permission for this intrussion. Bear in mind that you must update your anti-virus and anti-spyware software if you want to avoid such scams like PC Antivirus Pro.

PC Antivirus Pro is a rogue security program that is promoted through the use of Trojans and other malware. Usually, this rogue program comes from fake online anti-malware scanners or misleading online video web sites. Once installed, PCAntivirusPro will simulate a system scan and report a variety of malware infections on your computer such as adware, spyware and Trojans. Then it will prompt you to pay for a full version of the program to remove the infections which of course don't even exist on your computer. The only real infection is PC Antivirus Pro itself, so you obviously shouldn't purchase it.

Except for the paid version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware with realtime protection we usually do not post links to paid products.

Black has now edited his OP to add a commercial link to a "Computer Repair" service. (I quoted the full original post in my first reply).
I strongly suggest no one click on it.
