Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 23 is now available from https://cds.sun.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/CDS-CDS_Developer-Site/en_US/-/USD/ViewProductDetail-Start?ProductRef=jre-6u23-oth-JPR@CDS-CDS_Developer
Note: I no longer keep Java on my systems, and have yet to miss it. I believe several other members here (including Joe53 and RedDawn) have done the same.
But for those of you who actually need/use Java [or if you're unsure, and "feel good" having it around "just in case"], you should always keep it up-to-date.
