What's with sprtcmd.exe?

I looked up some info on this and found many answers that disabled this startup file.  It's in my Dell folder so I'm concerned that it might be a program that's supposed to be running and a virus/spyware program disabled it somehow. Who knows the real issue behind it, and how will it be corrected?

Hi, inetDon03, and welcome to DCF:

sprtcmd.exe is associated with Dell Support Center, which is a totally unneccessary program IMHO. It does nothing you can't do on your own, and it frequently causes problems. It is not a program that is "supposed to be running" and  I removed it long ago, without any adverse consequences. Problems related to it are not due to viruses or malware.

If Dell Support Center is listed in Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs, I would remove it from there.
