GTX 1050 vs Dell Vostro 470
Hello,
Having a heck of a time trying to get a GTX 1050 card to work in a Dell Vostro 470.
Card seems to have power, see the fan spin, driver install does not see card in pci express slot though.
Have upgraded bios to A12, still no luck, any suggestions?

Strange.
I have a Vostro-460 here. Been working fine with on-board video.
I tried dropping in an AMD-8570 and it stopped booting. But the AMD-8570 was needed in other OptiPlex machine after all so I pulled it back out. Both machines fine again. AMD card works fine as always there (1080p is so much nicer over DVI vs VGA) .
I'm getting ready to recycle the Vostro-460, so I'll never know. I would troubleshoot further, just to help you, but it's a different model, so not much help.
Edit: Actually, my problem appears to be this video-card/non-UEFI mismatch problem:
