Vostro 1015 wireless not working with windows 10
Hi there is no updated drivers for windows 10 for vostro 1015 but my boss is absolutely convinced that I just have to find the right driver for the wireless adapter to work. I am at my wits end because I have tried every wifi driver there is for the vostro 1015 and I keep getting errors when trying to install. Some of the errors say unsupported operating system. The wifi driver doesn't show up in device manager and when I try to check if there's any available networks none show up. I can get internet via ethernet connection but would like for wifi to work.

On a 12 year old system that possibly came with Windows 7 or Vista or XP. That is going to be a hard find. Do you have any idea which WiFi card you have? You can enter the service tag number at the Dell support page for the exact type. You can also try this web page at the MS Update Catalogue. They have a multitude of drivers there. But I suspect you may hit a wall. Possibly the adapter can be replaced with a more recent card.

Dell laptops have to use Dell drivers since they are customized for your exact motherboard. That model is not approved for windows 10 so it would have to be an old dell driver. Microsoft would have installed generic drivers if it had them.
You can buy a usb wireless adapter that should work. You have to disable the internal wifi card in device manager. Like this-- TP-Link TL-WN725N | 150Mbps Wireless N Nano USB Adapter | Speedy Wireless Transmission - Walmart.com - Walmart.com. There lots of them. You should have an N router or better.

Does the wifi card show up in Hidden Devices in Device Manager?
I would:
Update to the newest BIOS if there is one. This is always risky.
Update the chipset driver because it is the foundation of everything else.

Thanks ill try it out and no it doesn’t show up in hidden devices. But the bluetooth works and in network adapters it shows wlan drivers.
