3 Dell Computer(s) failing to Upgrade to Windows 10 Error 0xC00000F

So I have 3 Dells that all have OEM Genuine Windows installed on them and all 3 have failed to Upgrade, All 3 get the same message as you see in the picture, then it just tries to repair and fails, Im losing my mind, please help!

Tried the Dell again today, formatted installed windows 7 pro with SP1, then tried to upgrade to Win10 via USB, got the same error as in the picture above.

So we know it isnt because of any software on the Dells because they only have win 7 sp1 and nothing else.

Help!

Something is up with Windows 10 and SSD Hard drives\Dells, have 3 Latitudes all with SSD drives, all had same issue, able to resolve 2 of them, still working on 1 of them.

Work Around Solution,

Take out your SSD Hard Drive

Put in a Reg non SSD Hard Drive

Install Win 7 SP1 or Win 8

Download Windows Media tool\Win 10 ISO (Create USB or DVD)

Upgrade to Windows 10 using USB\ISO, when complete, make sure its Activated

Now, put back in your SSD Hard Drive, do a clean install using the USB\ISO

Boom, you're up and going, hasn't worked on 1/3 Dell notebooks, researching will post update.

Ive solved the same problem on e6320 with:

a new install of win 7 sp1 with boot from uefi dvd
change bios from legacy boot to uefi boot
install driver for nic
activate win 7
run MediaCreationToolx64.exe from Microsoft and opgrade

OK,

I decided to list these steps for anyone with a Dell Latitude E6410 because I had soooo many problems upgrading it from Win7x64 Pro to Win10x64 Pro.  I had to reload Win7 on this laptop at least 8 or 9 times because I experienced so many failures while trying to upgrade it to Win 10. As a result, I became really really frustrated, so I wanted to let everyone else know exactly what I had to do to to become successful.

Here is what I would experience each time my Win10 upgrade failed: I would start by downloading the Win10 upgrade files under Win7, then downloading the updates, then the upgrade would begin, system would reboot, the circular progress bar would appear and it would run until about 25 or 30% when the system would reboot, Win10 would attempt to run Startup repair but would fail every time. This is what would force me to reload Win7 again and try to upgrade it to Win10 over and over.

Several of the steps I've listed below, which may seem strange, were added as a result of suggestions I'd read on message boards where other users also had problems upgrading their systems to Win10.

  1. These steps assume your Latitude E6410 has or was purchased with a Win7 OEM license.

  2. Download all Win7 x64 drivers for the Latitude E6410 drivers and have them available on an external drive or disc.

  3. I Created a Win10_Pro_x64 USB boot drive using the Win10 media creation tool.

  4. Temporarily swapped existing laptop drive: Western Digital Blue 160GB hard drive with a spare Seagate 160GB drive I had available

  5. Hooked up external mouse, keyboard, and monitor to the laptop (I used my VGA TV input)

  6. NOTE: All future steps assume that when you power the laptop on, you open the laptop, hit the power button on the laptop, then immediately close the laptop so you can utilize the external devices listed in the above step.

  7. Using a CAT5 cable, attach the laptop's onboard NIC directly to your internet modem or router (avoid using wireless during Win10 upgrade/installation)

  8. Changed boot type from Legacy to UEFI in BIOS

  9. Boot laptop using the OFFICIAL Dell OEM Win7_Pro_x64 DVD using the UEFI boot method.

  10. Install Win7 Pro from scratch using above mentioned disc, but DO NOT LOAD DRIVERS.

  11. AS SOON AS WINDOWS 7 LOADS AND BOOTS TO THE DESKTOP, open Windows updates and set updates to 'Never download or install'.

  12. Load driver for onboard NIC in the laptop using your external device from step 2. LOAD NO OTHER DRIVERS.

  13. If you haven't already, plug in your CAT5 cable from the laptop to the modem/router.

  14. Plug in your Win10 USB from step 3 and run the Setup

  15. Proceed through the Win10 upgrade process, but make sure to choose to download updates during the process and 'Keep your apps and files'.

This is the process I used to successfully get my LatE6410 upgraded from Win7Pro to Win10Pro. I really hope it helps someone relieve frustration!

Dear Alls'

I want to share my struggles of the Windows10 upgrade to my Dell Latitude E6410 laptop. I fell into same pitfall as many users here did (I also faced with this 0xc000000f error after 30% of Installation phase). In my  case the solution was easier than I thought.

I used an out of date BIOS (A04) which is the original virgin BIOS version of my computer.

After I updated to the "latest" one  A16  revision BIOS (14th of October 2013) the Win10 installation went well without any issue. I hope I helped someone who faced of this nerve wrecking issue.
