Dual Boot Windows 10 and 8.1 After Windows 10 upgrade via System Recovery
Hi Members of Dell community,
I have upgraded my OS into windows 10 on Jul 31st 2015. The upgrade went smooth without a hitch and I am in love with Windows 10. Unfortunately... some of my CAD software e.g CATIA and Solidworks refused to work.
I am currently looking for possibilities on dual booting windows 10 and 8. My plan is to install windows 8 via the recovery disk. Is this method possible? I quite like windows 10 and this will be my primary OS. But the WIN 8 will be my go to OS when I needed to work on some of my CAD stuff.
Any help will be appreciated!
Best regards!

Be aware that you must buy a separate license when you dual boot. Windows 10 is a free upgrade and that requires installing it over your windows 8.1 and losing the 8.1 license. The win 8.1 license cannot be used again. A better idea might be to use the rollback to win 8.1 option that is available for only 30 days after the upgrade. The free upgrade offer is available for a year so you can redo the upgrade. There might be a solution to the cad problem in the near future--or even now. Check with the publisher of the cad program before you do anything.
