Inspiron 620 Windows 10 Upgrade
I have an Inspiron 620 (Mid 2011) as well and I let the Windows 10 upgrade run - not realizing that I needed to check with Dell as the Windows 10 checkup said it will work...
Once it finished the immediate problem was obvious: the video card (AMD HD6450) drivers didn't work and I was looking at an oddly shaped screen...
After looking around, removing all drivers, trying the AMD catalyst drivers for the specific card and OS as well as their older, beta ones (from Win 8.1) - nothing has worked... The device manager says: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"
I'm at my wits end... at this point I'll switch back (god help me) to Windows 7...
I'm trying the Microsoft Answer desk as a last ditch effort

Give it some time it should get the drivers automatically from Windows Update. It done this for the AMD 5770 in my XPS 8300 which is a 2010 model.

Thank you Philip
As an update: Microsoft Answer Desk was unable to fix the problem, they said that they have had the same problem with other Dell Inspiron 620 owners and suggested that I talk to Dell for drivers for that card...
Now I'm wondering if that card is not a "standard" AMD HD 6450 but some Dell OEM variant... maybe it needs special drivers?
Not sure how to gauge the time it will take for someone (Microsoft, Dell or AMD) to provide drivers for it... in the meantime I need to decide, do I try to revert to Windows 7 so that I can work properly or do I wait...
If anyone hears any news about this please advise
Thank you
Yorgo

further update:
I enabled the on-board graphics (Intel) through the BIOS and that works with Windows 10.
I have good resolution and two monitors plugged it - which is all I needed - I'm not gaming right now so this will do.

hi yorgob. my family and I bought the Dell Inspiron 620 in autumn 2011 which had Win7 and I'll wait a few months to upgrade to Win10 when I have obtained all Win10 compatible drivers.
Did you also update the BIOS on your 620 machine? I have 620 bios version A10 released in August 2013.
Btw, Intel did not release a Win10 driver for the onboard Intel HD Graphics 2000 hardware on their web site and only the v9.17.10.4229 driver from MS Update Catalog or Windows Update will make the Intel hd graphics run on Win10.
also, you could try the Win10 compatible AMD Catalyst drivers for your AMD HD 6450 from here.

Hey erpster - yes I did update the BIOS at some point in all my various attempts
The Intel driver version that works on my machine is 9.17.10.4229 and the Device Manager lists the card as Intel(r) HD Graphics
I have tried the AMD drivers you pointed to - didn't work. There is a resource that may help where they point to a beta AMD Catalyst set of drivers: here
