Old Dell E4300 Laptop missing compatible drivers after Win 10 creators update

After updating my wife's old Dell E4300 with the new Windows 10 creators update, two drivers are shown as missing in the Device Manager. There are:

Device description: Base System Device
Device instance path: PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_024D1028&REV_12\4&13C294F3&0&0AF0

and

Device description: Broadcom USH
Device instance path: USB\VID_0A5C&PID_5800&MI_00\6&66DE6C9&0&0000

No search for the drivers gave any result. The laptop is working though. With the above information I am unable to find matching drivers, even via the Dell support site. There is no clear way of mapping the reported missing drivers with anything on the Dell support site, or at least I was unable to do so.

Where do I find the correct drivers?

Unfortunately Dell doesn't provide windows 10 drivers for your system. However, I'd suggest you post the same question in the link below. Hopefully they will be a help to you.

As long as everything is working, don't worry. My three oldies work OK using mostly very old drivers and BIOS.

The usual problem drivers are touchpad and video. You can usually find non-Dell touchpad drivers on other sites, such as Toshiba. For video it's more complex. Win 10 will install useable drivers  for on-CPU video, but generic drivers for older discrete video. These generic drivers will most likely NOT provide many of the video options. You need to try to install manufacturer drivers for the newest supported windows version to recover all functions.

Well this is a reply to an old post, but since I decided to bring my old E4300 back to life and move over from Win7 to Win10, I have come to the solution to all the driver issues.

I'm running now Win10 64bit and actually didn't even really need to look for any drivers since everything was working fine after the Windows install. The devices that I was missing were basically the same that I had also missing when I used to reinstall Win7.

So basically you can use all the Win7 drivers that are on Dell's driver page. If the driver fails to load under Win10 you can just manually update the driver and browse to the corresponding folder where you extract the driver package.

Just gonna list the unknown devices as I remember, but three of the most probable ones that you will be missing are the chipset drivers (base system device, PCI Bus and PCI Controller?). The "Base system device" is Ricoh Memory Card Reader; PCI Bus and PCI controller are Intel LMS/SOL Driver and Intel AMT driver; Dell Touchpad driver can also be manually replaced from the generic driver. Dell ControlVault Driver replaces that Broadcom USH driver, I believe it was. Also, there was no issue with the graphics driver.

Hope this helps anybody out there. Good Luck.

PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843

is

Ricoh Media R5C847,R5U24x  Card Reader

Broadcomm USH is a specific Control Point Driver

The fastest easiest way to fix everything is to download the VISTA or WINDOWS 7 Cab File for your model.

Then move the downloaded cab file into the DOCUMENTS folder.

Then install 7ZIP and right Click on the cab file and say EXTRACT HERE.

https://www.7-zip.org/download.html

Once thats done you right click on any Yellow !  in device manager and say install drivers from my PC instead of from the internet.
