Windows 10 licence
Dell XPS. My hard drive has failed, unrepareable, unrecoverable. I have installed a new hard drive but do not have a windows disk or licence number (My machine came preinstalled with Windows 10) how do I get the licence number and a copy of Windows 10? The help pages on here were no help at all, so hoping the community has seen this before and can help.

If the system came with an earlier version of Windows and was upgraded to 10, use the license key for the earlier version (it's on a label most likely in the battery compartment).
If the system shipped with 8 or 10, the license key is embedded onto the system board and will be found when you reinstall Windows 10.
