Windows 11 Update on XPS 15 9570

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

Is windows 11 update now available via Dell support assist?

No. It was windows update

It says my computer is compatible. 

No, I am sticking with windows 10 for now. 

How are you downloading Win 11 update?

I've found a few things that could cause a failure - oftentimes it is a memory issue or a space issue. I generally do the following and most often have success:

Run Disk cleanup

Run Task Manager and see if there is anything running in the background

Check your startup items. Disable most everything that isn't absolutely required.

Reboot the computer twice

Try the install again

@nibruki  -  that would be ME - the weirdest version of Windows ever. I've found the upgrade from 10 to 11 to be seamless on multiple machines. A few minor glitches but nothing significant.

I had the same issue, for months whenever I would reboot it would try to install, and then fail and when it turn back on it would turn back the changes. After that, it actually failed and update and wouldn't get past the login screen. So I had to reinstall Windows all together. Now, windows update says it's fully up to date even though it's Windows 10, so I think what actually happened is the windows 11 update for the XPS 15 9570 is not ready yet. The PC health checker or whatever does confirm that it's compatible, but even the Windows site says that the 9570 is not yet ready/supported. Hope this helps!

I had this issue for a while and tried every suggestion I could find, receiving 3+ different types of errors on different attempts of the upgrade. 

The only thing that fixed this was to reset/re-install of windows 10 before attempting to update.

There likely was a conflict with a specific application, but I couldn't find a good way to identify which was the issue, so a reset was necessary. 

UPDATE: Today 3/10/22 I opened Window's update checker and there is an optional banner about updating to Win11. I haven't tried yet and am not sure if I want to, though I don't think it will give me any issues as recently I had to re-install Windows fresh (Win 10).
