Black screen with movable cursor

I am having the issue on my inspiron 14z, I'd appreciate there is solution. Hi there, I am having the same issue on my inspiron 14z, it is currently running Windows 8. When I start it this evening, my screen is just black with a movable cursor. I've taken restart/shut down, take the battery out. It didn't work. I am still able to CTRL ALT DEL and enter task manager, log out, lock, and switch user. How do I go about remedying this problem. F8, F11, F12 didn't work.
