Cannot rebuild Inspiron 17R SE7720
I have an Inspiron 17R SE7720 running Windows 8.1 which has been servicing me well for the last 2 years, but over time it has become very cluttered and is now running slow. So I decided that it is time to wipe it and reset to the factory image.
I created the USB recovery drive and booted the laptop from it. I was presented with the option of recovering from the factory image of the USB and all looked to be going well. However, when the restore had finished and I reboot the laptop, it cannot get past the Windows Boot Manager prompt. It is if the boot loader partition on the disk has become corrupt and cannot find the operating system.
I am wondering if I use a separate disk tool application and delete all the existing partitions on the drive, will the USB recovery drive recreate them automatically? Especially the ESP, DIAGS and WINRETOOLS partitions?
Any help is appreciated.
