installing windows 8.1 with ssd tips, (This was done on M6800)

Installing windows 8.1 on SSD

Follow this guys advice http://diydeveloper.io/tech/2014/06/07/how-i-got-burned-win8/, I just installed 8.1 on my new m6800, I installed a new Samsung 850 PRO 256GB ssd..... I did wipe the partitions on the hdd that came with the system and removed the boot option for it in the bios, set boot for ssd in bios first. This is not a m6800 problem, but rather windows 8.1 that got some stuff going on with its new installer, it is not getting the partian table on the SSD, even if you do manually set it. I did use the DISKPART option with the Shift+F10 option to clean partition tables and reset it with new primary partition, formatted with fs=ntfs quick option.

DISKPART
LIST DISK (identify your SSD disk number (from 0 to n disks))
SELECT DISK   (where is your SSD disk number)
CLEAN
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
ACTIVE
FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK
ASSIGN
