Accidentally Uninstalled Mcafee..how do I get it back?

I accidentally uninstalled the trial version of McAFee virus scan suite that comes with a new PC.  Where can I get this software or re-install.

I don't want to do a system restore, as I will lose 44+ updates and other programs.

Word of advise:  PC-De-Crapifier is a POWERFUL program!:smileysad:

I guess my first question.  How long was the trial for?  If 90 days...why not just go out and purchase and Internet Security Suite?  With rebates...most offer decent prices.  Right now, the most highly rated are Zone Alarm Internet Security Suite 6.5; Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2007; and  Kapersky Internet Security Suite.  Norton AntiVirus 2007 gets decent ratings...BUT is a totall resource hog on your system...and McAfee...which I used until recently...lost some points for their 2007 Version.

I got the Trend Micro PC-cillin Suite v12 with my Dell E1505...with a three year license.  It's a bit older...but TM is about to release a new version.  Because I was so impressed with this version.  I purchased the 2007 three user multi year license for my desktops...I have no complaints.  Do some research at PC Magazine, CNET and some other places and see what best fits your needs.

Being that you were running a trial version...maybe you should take the next step now...Other than that...to reinstall the Trial...you can either call Dell and ask if they have a disk they can send you OR look in the restoration partition for a McAfee folder...and run just that app...

I don't want to have to BUY a solution, but I don't want to waste the freebee also.  The answer came last night,

I suggest to anyone that they REGISTER with McAfee, cause they will allow you do redownload the software!

It may sound like I'm being cheap, but thru my work, we have a 'perpetual licence' for McAfee to use on our home computer.  It is 100% free, but does not come with the suite, just antivirus.  I may as well get my moneys worth of the free trial.  Same with Office 2003 Professional.  I have a licenced copy thru my employers home use program.....cost me $21. For OFFICE 2003 PROFESSIONAL.  Am I using up the trial first on my new PC? You bet!:smileytongue:
