Can't create Windows 7 System Repair Disc on New Dell 8700

Just took delivery of a XPS8700 with Windows 7 installed.  There is no restore partition on the hard drive.  I created a Backup and System Image using the W7 Backup and Restore program.  When I attempted to "create a system repair disc," I got the following pop-up. "Microsoft Windows Repair Disc has stopped working" and had to close it.   I have W7 on three other computers in our home and have never encountered this before.  Since the 8700 didn't come with any windows discs, I'm concerned that I can't make a repair disc.  Would appreciate any direction since I'm not having any luck.  The only thing I was able to do is create "Windows Reinstall Discs."  Thanks.

Thanks, Philip. Truth be told that I'm trying a Windows 7 SP1 OS disc provided by Dell to help with a problem on another computer.  It doesn't mess with the validation and leaves the day's worth of software I installed yesterday intact. I installed it as an upgrade/repair and Windows is as I type downloading and installing almost 200 updates.  If that doesn't work, I'll certainly take your recommendation under advisement.  Appreciate your input.  Even if my current install is successful, you've provided an excellent resource.  TL

The Windows 7 SP1 OS upgrade worked as described. A couple of the framework upgrades caused a little pain, but were remedied by installing the safe mode. Something in my msconfig startup was giving the 4.5.1 framework rev fits. All is well, now. Thanks again, Philip.
