Canon Pixma mp160

purchased this printer last saturday due to my epson refusing to install on vista, yet low and behold this one even though it had a sticker saying vista certified is having the same problems, it search's for the drivers then tells me that the INF was missing a necassary entry, and also that the INF was written for windows 95 or later please contact the vendor

i have all the latest drivers but i still get the same message

anyone got any ideas at all

It sound like you are connecting the printer first, which is the wrong way to install.  You must first run the installation program for the printer (and if the Vista drivers are not on the install CD you will have to download them from the Canon site) and then only connect the printer to the PC when the install program tells you.
