Help upgrade my Dimension L933r from ME to XP
I want to know what I'm getting into, here. I want to upgrade to XP from ME on my trusty Dell Dimensions L933r.
I had previously bought and installed Microsoft Office XP Standard for Students and Teachers and it is compatable with my Windows ME operating system. So then I bought Front Page 2003, the upgrade, but it wouldn't install, the error message saying I needed either Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Oh, all right, but how cheaply can I do this?
Can I get away with simply buying the XP upgrade, installing it, then installing the Front Page 2003 upgrade on top of that? Or do I have to do something tricky like buy the full XP version, and a select, as-to-be-named version of Front Page with which it will be compatible?
The object is to upgrade to some version of XP so I can use my Front Page 2003 upgrade. Possible? Don't want to start monkeying around with the initial operating system upgrade only to discover nothing works any more.
I respectfully defer to wiser heads.
Sincerely,
MouseB

Thanks, Denny. It does.
I read through everything you sent and many links. I think I'll avoid problems by simply buying another Dell with XP already installed so I can easily add the stand-alone FrontPage 2003. Wish I had known that when I bought one with Windows ME. It's another bill of expense just to get something which will create pages in a file format which can be uploaded to a server. XP doesn't have it's own server but XP Professional does. For another $70 upgrade. Where does it all end?
Thanks for your help, again.
