How to repair/reinstall Corel Photo Album 6?

I bought the Inspiron 6400 laptop in April 2005 and it came with the said programme pre-installed.  I have searched on the forum already for a solution but haven't found what I need - I see that the programme gets quite a slating generally, but for me it has been quite useful and I find it easy to use to organise and do simple editing of my snapshots.  I never bothered to pay for the upgrade after the free trial of the enhanced product ended, as the basic one did enough for what I needed.

Basically, in the last few days I can no longer access the programme.  When I try to open it from my start menu or the icon on my desktop, it fails to open the programme and starts trying to install it, but then fails when it asks me to insert the 'Corel Photo Album 6' disk (which I don't have and have never had, since it came preinstalled).   HOWEVER, when I plug my Canon Ixus camera into the usb to download photos, the Corel photo album programme opens up and I can download my photos and also view all my photo folders on my hard drive.  Really weird.  Also it used to be my default programme to open and view images as I scanned documents on my Dell Photo 924 printer/scanner/fax, and now it is no longer an option on the drop-down list when I am trying to scan.

Nothing has been changed on my computer, so I don't know why this has happened.  Can I reinstall it somehow?  I am out of warranty on the laptop now, so I figure Dell can't help.

Cheers in advance

A quick Google found  me Corel Photo Album 6.

But I don't know whether it will require reactivating/re-registering if you reinstall it?

For that reason, you should read this Corel 'Activation of Photo Album 6 - Written Instructions' advisory first :emotion-5:
