I need to type my resume'

I just got my inspiron 5100. I wrongly assumed there would be a resume' program in the word perfect office 11

such as in microsoft works. I'm really a computer novice and was wondering if it's a good idea to download a resume' program...will it be free...will dell or microsoft help...what are my options. I really need to get moving

on my resume' and without a step by step template or program ... or whatever , it will take me forever.HELP!

You've got a wordprocessor program, that should be all that's needed.  You will have to manually format it the way you want, but that's all.  When I was doing hiring for Novell CNE's, the ones with the fancy computer generated resume's were looked on negatively.

There's nothing Microsoft or Dell will do for you.  If you want a "resume" program you will have to buy it and install it on the PC. 

You should know, if you send it electronically, most places are set up for MSWord format.  If you don't have it in MSWord they may reject it (or whatever format the company you are submitting it to wants).

Which version of WP are you using?  In Word Perfect 7, click on FILE, New and select the category of Personal and then Resume Contemporary.

You can also do a Google search using "wordperfect resume template" and you'll see a ton of templates to download.
