I put my computer to sleep mode and it won't wake up

I hadn't had this issue in the past but all of a sudden recently when I put my computer into sleep mode, when I go to wake it up it doesn't.  I have to restart it by holding down the power button, which sometimes causes a message to appear saying I didn't shut down the computer properly last time.

Has anyone else every had this issue before?  I think there was a recent windows update done, could this have done it?  HELP!

Hi mwwatkins23,

Thanks for posting.

Apologies that your system is not working the way you anticipated.

Your post doesn't mention the model or operating system that you're using, so it's difficult to give a specific answer to your question.

In general; if you have the Inspiron 7467/7567 and Windows 10 Creators Fall Update, then try installing the previous version of the driver 21.20.16.4727,A03 has been resolving the issue.  Thanks.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your help.  I have an Inspiron 3459 (Inspiron 24 3000 Intel Touch; 6th Generation Intel Core i3-6100U Processor, 3M Cache, 2.30 GHz; Windows 10 Home 64bit) all in one desktop.  Would the fix you recommended still be the right one now knowing what model I have?

No, it would be a different solution for your system.  Please remove both the adapter and battery for a few second then re-install them to resolve the issue. You may also wish to update BIOS to A05 or later.

Thank you Robert.  Are there any tutorials on how to do both of these?  I'm not very computer savvy

Try to turn off hibernation and check if the problem is gone.
