IE 6 Open in new window

When opening a "child" new window in IE6 under XP, the live window automatically becomes the newly opened window.  How can I keep the parent window live without clicking it in the task bar?

Well be real nice if someone could tell me if I have asked a stupid question?  This was my first post...a little off beat and no doubt simple but thought I may have some feedback...even if from the Dell guys.   1 week of Dell ownership and I am already missing my HP......
