IE7 and XP SP1

I know that Microsoft specifies that IE7 is only compatible with XP SP2 and certain Windows Server OS's. I'm just anti-SP2 and continue to run SP1.

Has anyone tried, or does anyone know (for sure), if I can download and use the new IE7 with SP1?

Thanks,
Art

What's wrong with SP2?  I think if you want IE7, you will be forced to update.

You must have SP2 if you want IE7 or any new updates after
support for XP SP1 ends later this year. I was also reluctant
to install SP2 on my Dell 8200 .. but finally did it about 2 weeks
back ...only had to update Windows Media Player after the
install of SP2 to clear up a minor annoyance .. otherwise fine.

Yes .. I installed SP2 about 1-2 weeks ago and
went right to Windows Update afterward to see
what else it might have needed and put them in.

All ok
