Inspiron 530S with Vista OS

Hello . please help as earlier as possible

I am using dell Inspiron for 4 years now and having specifications as follows

Vista basic os

Dual core processor

2G DDR2 RAM

160GB Samsung SATA 2 HDD of HD161hj model of s series.

Presently i am getting CRC ERROR (data ERROR) for HDD and Getting Diskette 0 seak failures .

Few times HDD is not detedcted which is in IDE mode.

I tried to resolve error by running diagnositc CD of Dell

I am not clear about what type of error it is ? Is this a Harddisk failure error.

I also have changed the allocation size to default.

When i tried to format HDD with vista OS ERASE option is not accessible and i i cannot even create partitions.

Please guide .and post for Windows Os
