Yes it's safe I have it. One thing though, disable Tk Bell exe from your startup programs. It's RealPlayer's media browser that eats ram. It's available when you need it but will try to run all the time.

Now Mine is

snowshine,

I can't answer your question as I try to avoid Real Player where possible.

For listening to the BBC live, I can recommend a gadget for your sidebar, BBC Radio Player, available here:

There are also plenty of other Radio Players in the Windows Live Gallery (some better than others) that cover a wider range of stations.

If you want to listen to the BBC archived shows, I have no problems with those either.  I am not sure whether I had to install Vista Codec Pack first or not. http://www.jtow.net/users/triess/
Then you can install Media Player Classic and associate it with .ram files if you want to listen in a standalone player and create favourites etc.

I certainly don't have any problems listening to Internet radio stations.  I will admit that I have to use a mixture of WMP, MPC & Zoom Player to cover all formats.

Hope that helps and that someone else may be able to answer your original question.

It should be the same as mine, that's just how I put it in my signature. Anyway,
