If you are trying to uninstall Mcafee from windows XP, then basically you need to uninstall from Add Remove Prorams for which i m mentioning the Steps...if you wnt to view with pictures then i would ask you to click on the below link. The steps..for the uninstallation are...
Click on the
Start Menu then select
Settings and
Control Panel (Figure 1).
The
Control Panel window should now be open. Click on the
Add or Remove Programs category if you have the control panel set to category view
double-click the
Add or Remove Programs icon if you have the control panel set to classic view
Next, you should be prompted with a list of programs you currently have installed on your system. Navigate to and click on
McAfee VirusScan Home Edition. The menu item should expand and you will be prompted with two choices, click on the
Remove button
Next you will be prompted to confirm the choice of removing
McAfee VirusScan Home Edition. Click
Yes
The uninstall process should automatically remove
McAfee VirusScan Home Edition, and once the process is completed, you will be prompted to restart your system. You may click
Yes to restart your system immediately, or you may click
No if you plan to restart later
McAfee VirusScan Home Edition should now be removed from your system.
You should be able to download McAfee Security Center for free at:
http://us.mcafee.com/root/package.asp?pkgid=113&cid=9434
And if you have to reinstall VirusScan and their firewall, you should be able to log in and do that for free too as long as you've registered the software and your subscriptions haven't expired.
Ya i think thats what happen, my subscriptions expired! So i guess ill just have to go to some store like Best Buy or Circuit City and buy another security center or McAfee again.
