McAfee SecurityCenter non compatible w/Windows Mediacenter 2005

I was told by DELL support to uninstall my McAfee Security Center on my XPS 400, since it causes the Mediacenter 2005 to result in a Critical Process Error (code 3).
 
Does anyone know when this is planned to be fixed, so XPS users who got a 15month subscription to McAfee aren't hanging 'high-and-dry' without any virus protection S/W? Maybe DELL is providing a different suite as a resplacement?

McAfee Security is trouble on any computer, IMO. But you don't need to be without antivirus protection. Just do a custom install of only the antivirus program and leave all the other programs out. All the programs in the suite can be installed individually.

There was a response just a few days ago that there has been a fix in the latest update and should fix it.  I will be reinstalling the Privacy Service this afternoon and seeing if it is true.  Otherwise, just uninstall only the Privacy Service and everything should work fine.

I had the Code 3 error as well as Code 1 error. Dell Tech Support for XPS had me roll back an earlier system restore point but it didn't fix anything. After trying a few other thing for about 2 weeks I reinstalled the OS and applied the Rollup 2 for MCE. I have since installed the McAfee Security Center and I don't have this issue anymore. The latest driver for the Dual Tuner card had some problems though; there was no audio in recorded TV programs, and since I Rolled back to the original driver I've not had any problem so far.

How do I uninstall the privacy service? I don't see it anywhere.

I know you posted this years ago, but I am just having a freezing issue now after McAfee's stupid update.
