McAfee VirusScan 2004 prevents smooth video playback
Hi guys
I have the folowing problem. I recently bought VirusScan 2004 from McAfee and it seems like it prevents a smooth video playback as when I watch a movie (regardless of the player) it hangs for a split second in regular intervals. When I disable the scanner it is gone.
Would be great if anyone could make a suggestion how to solve this WITHOUT changing the program.

This is not the only problem like that. I have notice of late that each time McAfee is updated my PCs are getting slower and slower. Turning off VirusScan quickly improves performance. The problem is most noticeable on PCs of 866Mhz and under. In fact on two of my PCs (in part of my network) that are 466Mhz Pentiums, I cannot even play MP3 from a CD. The will get constant interruptions due to VirusScan. Why the heck is it constantly scanning files on a CD drive? You would think at some point they should at least realize they have already scanned it. I why don't they have the ability to not scan certain things (like the CD or DVD drives). I have noticed problems like you with playing my DVDs on my 866Mhz PIII.
It's getting to the point where McAfee is getting to be to big and to CPU intensive to be useful. What do they expect that everyone is running a 3.2 Ghz P4 with 2Gb of memory?
