Outlook Express will not download email messages.
Computer is a Dell XPS 410 with Windows XP Service Pack II.
Outlook Express will not download email messages. It gives the following error message:An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800C0133. This same thing (including same error message number) happened about a year ago on my older Dell computer (Dimension 4300S).
Have been on the phone with Comcast Tech Support, my ISP, and in chats with Comcast Tech people with no success. They suggest I make the outgoing (sending) port number 587. Comcast says only one other user has had this error number and it had to do with a corrupt email message in the inbox and something about too many messages in the inbox. I had plenty of messages (something under 4000) in the inbox. There's nothing in there now.
Is this possibly a problem with Dell computers? Has anyone had experience with Outlook Express error number 0x800C0133? Any other ideas?

Thank you for the help. Disabling Inbound email scanning in McAfee/Comcast Security was all it took.
