Plug in RW/DVD drive get message: "software ... has not passed windows logo testing"

I have a Latitude C400 running XP Pro Version 5.1.2600, SP2. My plug-in drives are both Dell products: HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4241 N, and HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4240 N.

When I plug in either drive I get the message that "the software you are installing for this hardware has not passed Windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP" I assume that this message relates to the drivers that XP wants to install when I plug in the drives since I did not try to install software.

I understand that XP has built-in drivers for the two CD drives that I want to use. I have not been able to locate drivers for these CD drives. And my research has not indicated if it would be safe to install the XP selected drivers even though they were determined not to have passed logo testing.

What should I do?
