Screen goes black when increasing to 1024X780 after XP re-install.

Question

Hello...

Have the following system...

CPi A 366 PII, XP PRO SP2, C/Port II Dock, D1728D monitor.

Problem...Reloaded XP after a complete format and since, cannot increase screen res to 1024X780. Screen goes black for 15sec and reappears in 600X800. This only happens when docked! Plugging the monitor directly into the laptop works fine and gives the option of THREE resolutions and they all work fine. Only have TWO options when docked, and only one works. The complete system worked fine before the format and reload. Old HD had too much junk + a worm!

Did I loose a driver somewhere and is it a video driver or a docking station driver??

Remove your service tag # before this post gets deleted, it is not allowed to post these numbers.     I would update the bios to the latest version. This had Win2K originally?

Sorry...Missed that  Originally had '98 on it, but worked with the previous XP load fine.  Only had problems after removing XP PRO, formatting and reloading XP PRO SP1, added SP2, no change.  Don't know if the first XP had SP1 or not. Message Edited by kj6ko on 12-31-200605:00 PM

...Already been there.  A lot to choose from, mostly FP displays...mine is not listed.  It is a standard monitor.  What would you recommend?      Greg
