Trouble with e-mail since using my new Inspiron 530
I've used my Dell Dimension 8600 for four years to e-mail with three different providers: dial-up, DSL and Comcast Cable without trouble. I've also used the Comcast Cable provider with my Inspiron 1525 (Vista Home Premium) with no trouble. Now I have added an Inspiron 530 to mynetwork, and little demons have appeared to bother me.
First and most importantly, I can no longer receive e-mails from a familiar address in Germany. It is blocked as Spam only in Comcast. I can receive Gmail. Something must have triggered the blocking since I've received e-mail from that address until I started with this Inspiron 530.
Second, only on this Inspiron 530, I get two Compose pages when I want to write an e-mail. One can access my address book, the other does nothing. Very annoying.
Third, the mouse does not point directly at the desired button. I have to click just above the link in order to access the file.
The Inspiron is supposed to be my main computer for editing pictures and videos, but as I'm already annoyed after only one week of use, I'd appreciate any advice.

Comcast, you either use the spam filter or you don't. My email address was considered a spammer email address with Comcast and I'd get this nasty email from Comcast. I emailed them back and they said they didn't know anything about it. I have friends I email jokes to and if they get them, fine, if Comcast blocks them, then they have to figure out what to do to get their emails. Adding my email address to the address book didn't seem to help the one person, so they turned the spam filter off and now they receive my emails.
You have a gmail account, I'd recommend that you use this instaed of the Comcast account.

Yes, I have been using Comcast e-mail for a whole year without trouble until this glitch occurred on my Inspiron 530. In the meantime, I was using my gmail as well. It's good, too, but I'm not as accustomed to it. In the meantime, my uncle in Germany and I have somehow solved the problem. His e-mail is no longer considered Spam. The problem of two compose pages with one click.
I found an extra command in the Properties box when I right-click on the Compose button, but I can't access this command to remove the extra words. This extra command is not on my Inspiron 1525 laptop. Comcast hasn't responded with a solution to this.

Like paindoc asked, what email program are you using? Outlook, Outlook Express, Mozilla Thunderbird or the webserver?
If using the webserver, which browser are you using to check your email account, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, etc?

If using NoScript to chack your Comcast email, allow Comcast.net as one of them. If that doesn't work, then try IE Tab and see if that works. Make sure you have the latest flash player and Java.
Does it work now?
Does it work with Internet Explorer?

I checked in Internet Options and found that I have Java. I'm fairly sure that I have the latest flash player, too, because I haven't been prompted to download it. I was not able to find the Internet Explore Tab you mentioned or the NoScript function. Where is this to be found?

First, if you click on the links I provided above, it will tell you if you have the latest version or not and then prompt you to download the latest version.
NoScript is an add-on used with Mozilla Firefox. More information on NoScript and how it works.
