Unable to send any word documents as an email attachment
I am unable to send any of my documents as attachments.
The email and file reaches recipient but when they try to open the file this message appears.
works cannot open C:\Documentsandsettings\georginalee\localsettings\temporaryinternetfiles\.iE5\7WAKOZDI\nameoffile.wps
the file may be in use by another application, the file format may not be supported by any of the the installed converters, or the file may be corrupt.
I have tried to send through outlook and use my hotmail account, but nothing seems to work. Also have tried saving the files onto a memory stick to open on another computer and still no joy.
Also tried saving the files into a different format and that didn't work either. My guess is that the files are corrupt. But hiw do I resolve this issue?

It appears you are only sending the location of the file on your hard drive, not the actual file. When you attach a file using MS Outlook, click on the paper clip icon to attach the file, then select the file and it will show up as the actual file, e.g. myfile.doc or in your case it's myfile.wps. If it shows up as anything else you are not actually attaching the file.

If you use Works and the recipent uses Word, you should open the files in Works on your system and use the SAVE AS command and save the files using the .rtf file format. Microsoft Word should be able to open the .rtf versions correctly.
