Uninstall Old Versions of Norton First?
Can't get a response on other boards. Later today I want to install Norton Internet Security 2004. Should I uninstall Norton Internet Security 2003, Live Update, and Live Reg first in add/remove programs before attempting to install version 2004, or will the installation do it for me.

Norton Anti-virus 2004, uninstalled version 2003 itself. It did give me the option to do it myself or let 2004 do it.

Your best bet is to get the instructions from here first ( manual uninstall ). Select your setup from the list and print out the instructions:

Use add\remove programs first and then use the manual instructions to make sure everything is gone. Then do your new install. Just did it myself 2 days ago and everything went well.

Either, or. I'm pretty sure Symantec's self uninstall works as good as a manual uninstall. User's preference I'd say.

It took a lot of searching but here is a very brief description of Symantec Drmc.

Thanks for the replies. I did not get back to this forum after replying to Ed. I went ahead and installed and let the program delete the old version, and everything seemed to go well, other than the almost 40 Megs of updates that I had to download via dial up!! An added benefit is the $50 in rebates I'll be getting back....
On a unrelated matter...what caused this post and the answers to go to the wide format, where I have to scroll back and forth, and is there anything that I can do on my end to correct it?
