What's with the blinking cursor on a black screen when I reboot my Inspiron 6000
This is a weird problem that I have been having very often.
Sometimes(note, not all the time) when I reboot my Inspiron 6000 , that runs XP Service Pack 2, it will end at a black screen with a blinking white cursor in the top right corner. Then if I press the power button it will turn off. And I can just turn on the computer and it will boot normally as usual
What could be the cause of this strange issue?
Please do share your thoughts, thanks!

D2army,
Usually this weird problem on restart is due to a USB device, especially USB jump drives, media drives, thumb drives, cameras, and even printers being seen as a potential boot device by XP SP2. Especially prevalent when those devices "sleep" or "hibernate" when not in use. Aggravating when installing software and software updates that require restart.
