Win 98 / IE ...some websites blocked/will not open
Just recently I have been unable open a couple of frquently-used web sites. Have not made any changes to Zone Alarm or IE. The sites are active as I have opened them from my work. I cannot open the sites at home on my Dell Deminsion or my laptop. I have a Linksys router to the laptop; again, these problems only recently began...the wireless net nor the firewall ever caused this blocking before. Any ideas on where to diagnose this?

Check your Internet options > Security > Restricted Zones to see if those websites are listed. Then check your Internet options > Privacy > Websites to see if any are blocked. Finally, check your Internet options> Privacy > Custom > Avanced settings to see if any Third-Party cookies are blocked. On "redirect", sometimes you need to allow Third-Party redirection in order to gain access. An example of this latter process would be Screen Name Service, a third-party free web server provided through Netscape and AOL.

If you get this message in the progress bar when trying to open a web site/page:
res://C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL\dnserror.htm
Then this should work with one caution; save your current shdoclc.dll file first, somewhere to be retrieved after the fix.
