Windows 8.1 won't sleep/error when rebooting - DRIVING ME INSANE

Hi guys,

Since upgrading to Windows 8.1, My laptop doesn't sleep, now I updated the graphics drivers and it seemed to solve the issue but now it's back to not sleeping properly again and then just reboots my laptop and takes 20 seconds or more to boot up again.

When I wake my Laptop Inspiron 15R SE 7520 from hibernation an error message appears with blue screen " "thread_stuck_in_device_driver".

All drivers are updated according to Device Manager. I have also left HOMEGROUP.

I just have no idea how to solve this and I am just fed up of trying since upgrading to windows 8.1! Before with windows 8, it would wake up from sleep within 1/2 seconds...now nothing!

Thanks,

Ravi

Hi guys... good news

I have just managed to find a fix myself FINALLY! :D (to do with the AMD Radeon 7730M graphics driver...

I did a bit of digging around the internet and found this link:

http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19477777.aspx

which has seemed to solve my issue!

I only downloaded this link below and without having to reinstall anything it just did it all for me using AMD's Catalyst Display Driver site/software.

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+7+-+64

My laptop now sleeps within 2-5 seconds and boots up within 1 second now :D.

I have Intel Graphics HD 4000 and AMD Radeon HD 7730M installed on my Dell 7520 15R SE.

This may not help EVERYONE but hey it's worth a try.
