Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt : \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
'You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup.
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair.'
I would just love to use the Windows Setup CD.
is there a specific recovery CD i need? where would i purchase it? or should i just buy Windows XP-Home edition and reinstall it.
is there a way to fix this without a cd? could i just do a system restore?

It is the disk you received with the computer that is for "Reinstallation of the operating system" but if you can't find it you can request a replacement if you live in US. Fill out the form at the bottom of THIS Page.
