XP Question

I have XP home edition installed on a dell dimension 2800 and was wondering if i was to buy windows media center 2005 for my computer would my drivers cd still work on the media center?

Another question i have is if i get the media center 2005 could i take my XP and put it on another computer?

The operating system that came with the Dell is licensed for that Dell machine only. Would it work on another Dell model, probably so but not any otherbrand. You can obtain your drivers from the Model tabs above.

A D2800 is really not well suited for Media center edition operating system. MCE has higher hardware requirements to benefit from the upgrade. You'd be better off saving for a new computer with mce. You also cannot buy MCE for upgrades, except from resellers. It's only official available in new pc's. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/mediacenter/howtobuy/default.mspx
