handle invalid

On startup today windows 10 said windows found problem and repairing C drive. Then all attempts to sign in fail. Screen endlessly cycles saying username or password incorrect. Reset password and seems to try to log in but says handle is invalid? On Inspiron 660 desktop. I had hard drive errors after put W10 on laptop so reverted  to windows 7 which I might do here if can get it working. Any clues?

If you have HDD errors then the HDD is likely failing and you'll have the same issues on Windows 7 as Windows 10. Time to get a new SSD and replace the HDD in the system.

Thanks for your response. Diagnostic said repairs are needed, obtain repair media if not have it. I don't because W10 was installed through the upgrade few weeks ago. Gave error code 0xc00000bd, can't find any link to that one. Hard drive less than 3 years old. Desktop is unusable, very frustrated. Can repair media be obtained from Dell or repair shops. I'm no expert in all this.

Did the F12 preboot diagnostics give any error messages?
