how to become the administrator?
My computer for some reason does not see me as the administrator, even though it's my computer. How can i become the administrator? i feel i've tried everything.

Your system, your OS, the exact messaging you receive, what you are trying to do ... all would be EXTREMELY helpful in helping us to know what the problem is and how to fix it.
I might assume that you are using Windows 7 and are talking about the prompts for admin approval for certain things. Newbies to Windows 7 are often surprised that they, as Administrators, are asked for Administrators permission to do certain tasks. Windows 7 introduces a security feature called UAC (User Account Control), which prompts for your okay to make changes to your computer, including system settings. Because you are an administrator, you can approve this. If you were not an admin, you would have to enter an admin's username and password to allow it. This prevents applications like viruses and other malware from running without you knowing or without your permission. This doesn't prevent all infections, but an extremely large portion of them. This can be turned off, but it is NOT advisable.
