installing windows 2000 on a system that came with vista
i want to install windows 2000 professional on a computer that came with vista . the computer is a HP a1520e i just don't like windows vista. can it be done.

You would be better off to install XP. You are more likely to be able to get hardware drivers for XP than 2000 on a new machine. Before you nuke vista make sure there are drivers available for the OS you intend to install. The majority of the hardware being sold today was being shipped with XP last january so XP drivers should be on the manufacturers website. You will also need a codec to play DVD video on all previous versions of windows since microsoft did not write it into the OS.
