ordered Windows XP (no media)... what does (no media) mean?

I mistakenly ordered Windows XP (no media) thiking I would get Windows XP without Windows Media Player. OK. I got Media Player anyways. So what the does (no media) mean?

Oh MAN. No wonder I couldn't find the Windows CD.

I thought we could finally get Windows without that stupid media player?

Oh well. I'll definitely call them.

I believe it means you ordered your system without the re-installation disks for your Operating System and other installed software programs.

In Europe, at least, there is a version of XP without WMP. It's called Windows XP N, I think. Microsoft was forced to make it available by the EU commissioners. I don't think it has been very popular:-)
