vostro 320 will not boot in any mode. I need help ~ please

sunday computer was on. then was found off. turned it on and boots as far as the black screen "starting windows", then nothing.  went to F8 for safe mode.  files load like is going to start but once list of loading files it stops. and nothing, it does nothing.  PSA tests show no errors.  norton recovery boot disk, boots from USB then stalls at "starting windows".  most if not all updates are installed automatically so I don't know if software/operating system had installed an update that did this. I can't even boot from install disk.  I have ran F8 for 'repair my computer" and it stops after loading files with a barely visible ms corp logo.   I will loose files if I set computer back to factory settings so I have not yet at this time tried that option.  not even sure it will let me do that by the way it isn't responding to anything.  ANY HELP out there?
