web pages garbled and overlapping words

This is often a result of:

 

1.  The website was tested by the developer using Internet Explorer only and you use a different web browser.  Different web browsers reneder page elements differently including how text is rendered.

 

2.  The text size that your browser is set to is too large.  You can change the text size in your browser by clicking View -> Text Size and setting it to a smaller value.  Usually, changing by one step will do what is necessary.
