Dell XPS 8900 Upgrade WiFi Card

You could cut out all the questions about compatibility by getting a USB3 WiFi dongle. Just disable the internal WiFi card in Device Manager and plug the dongle into USB and install its driver (if any).
BTW: You will need a dual band router to be able to use 5 GHz WiFi. Otherwise you'll only be able to use 2.4 GHz which is probably the same frequency used by the WiFi card that's in the PC now.
