Dell XPS-8900 Will Not Start
Power button is flaky. Have to press several times to get PC to turn on. Changed my procedure to put PC to sleep rather then press power button. Called several local repair shops and they are not interested in this problem. Dell says ship the PC back to them. Not really an option. Any suggestions for an at home fix?

The first thing to do is to trouble-shoot (with a good make-shift-switch) and be 100% sure it's really the switch. Some of these Front-Panels are rather sophisticated.
Then you ...
- Try some plastic-safe Contact-Cleaner (into the actual tiny electronic switch itself)
- Install a different (working) Front-Panel
- Solder-in a new exact-replacement switch
- Rig-up a whole new switch
- Use your current work-around until you are done with computer or it dies due to some-other reason.
