Studio XPS 8100, solution to read on internal SATA3 HDD?

My request about replacement HD has been solved thanks to the community.

Unsured if this is the correct section  how to read the old HD ?

Its a Western Digital model WD10EZEX 1TB 64mb made 2016, it has the 2 SATA connections,see photo .

When I look online there are 100's of HD readers all seem to be for older HD with multi pins.

What to other Dell desktop users reckon will be OK to read the old HD ?

Thanks.

@Olduser1  The Unitek SATA to USB adapter recommended by @fireberd should work fine for what you want, which is to get the data off your old SATA hard drive.

I'm unsure what you are asking or if its been resolved?

If you want to use the old drive or get data off of it, an external USB connected SATA interface is what you need.   The ones with many more pins are for the older PATA (IDE) interface drives.

Here is an example:

Being a pensioner I'm not up to date with current solutions.

I'm ordering another HD, the old one I'll need to get docs & photos off.

When I look on line the car readers all seem to be for older HD with multi pins, hence my most recent enquiry of the Dell Comminuity asking for potential solutions.

Thanks

I'm a Florida retiree (age 83 next month).

If you want to replace the existing drive you need a "SATA" interface drive.  Either another mechanical drive or better an SSD (solid state) drive, which is much faster.   Either one should have at least 512GB capacity and  1TB drives are more common.

OK are you saying that the Unitek reader in the earlier reply won't function?

I don't understand
