TOSHIBA DT01ACA200 is disabled on startup
Whenever my machine (XPS 8930) reboots, the Toshiba drive is disabled. I have to de-install the drive using Device Manager and reboot before it is visible again. It did not do this after I purchased the machine, but some months later, some update causes this to happen. Anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this?

Is this HDD the boot (C:) drive?
When you say "reboots", do you mean when waking from sleep/hibernation, doing a Restart from inside Windows, or a "cold" boot from a full power off?
What version of BIOS is running?
What version of Windows?
Have you checked XPS 8930 Support page to see if there's any firmware update for this HDD?

Are these updates being done by Windows Update, by SupportAssist or manually by you?
Next time it happens, open in Device Manager and click View>Show hidden. Then look for "Unknown" device(s). If you find any, right-click and Uninstall. Then click Action>Scan for hardware changes and see if the HDD reappears.
FWIW, I have XPS 8930 (Win 10, BIOS 1.1.28) with a 1T WD HDD as my D drive, and I've never seen this happen.

It seems to be okay from a cold boot , but I have not done that in a while. Waking from sleep or hibernation is fine. This always happens when the O/S restarts after updates. If i deinstall the drive before rebooting, it also boots and finds the drive. It is running Windows 10, I would have to check BIOS, but it is pretty up to date, as I install as new releases come out. This problem showed up about 2 years ago and has persisted through multiple BIOS updates and Windows patch releases.
